Silicatec's Message
Welcome to Silicatec, the most innovative learning center for first
time in India-where best education is guaranteed.
This state of the art institute has a vision that is to provide
world class training to college graduates and working professionals
in the area of Hardware VLSI Engineering. The demand of VLSI trained
engineers is growing in India. With limited resources and limited
curriculum students are not exposed to the technical knowledge required
in today’s industry, especially in VLSI field. Everyday new
product innovation is happening and tech industry is engaged in designing
and producing high-end products. There is tremendous need of well-trained
VLSI engineers in the industry. Silicatec wants to bridge the gap
between the semiconductor industry and the university by providing
the training in VLSI education with hands on experience on current
high tech industry projects. Silicatec has very high standards. Our
core curriculum is designed to give expertise for a student to be
able to be productive right from the beginning. Apart from the technical
skills, students would be trained in soft skills needed to be full
fit for the industry.
Silicatec Overview
Silicatec, an exclusive learning center, is focused on Semiconductor
industry. Silicatec believes in imparting its knowledge and experience
which its management and staff (more than 100+ man years), have gained
while designing Semiconductor chips in the Silicon Valley of the world
for the past 20 years. With the conjunction with STG, this is the
first ever institute in INDIA.
Silicatec will provide you with the state-of-the-art facilities
for high-end ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit), FPGA
(Field Programming Gate Array) and system design training. Facilities
include modular classrooms, fully networked and web-enabled Unix and
Linux workstations for every student apart from high end Windows based
systems. We are also equipped with complete suite of EDA tools from
the Industry leaders – Synopsis, Cadence, Mentor Graphics, Xilinx,
and Altera. Currently the courses offered are 6 months PG Diploma
course in VLSI, short term courses on ASIC logical design & ASIC
Physical design. The courses cover topics ranging from HDL (VHDL/Verilog),
Verification methodologies, DFT, ASIC /FPGA design, Synthesis, Static
Timing Analysis, Place and Route, Layout techniques. In short the
courses cover the whole ASIC Design flow right from the RTL to GDS

About STG
STG Chips Pvt Ltd., the first Semiconductor Technology Innovation
Center in Bhubaneswar, which will be first of its kind in India. Chief
Minister, Naveen Patnaik laid the foundation stone for the center
on Aug 31st 2007. The center will employ over 1600 employees over
next 5 years.
STG (www.stgchips.com) intends to open Silicon Park, a semiconductor
(chip) Technology Innovation Center in Bhubaneswar, India, with an
objective to engage in Chip design, System and embedded software development
for markets including consumer, IT, Telecommunications and emerging
technologies, leveraging the manpower graduating from the engineering
colleges of Orissa and Eastern India. This technology innovation center
will be a business incubator dedicated to supporting growth and development
of early stage technology based businesses focused on building products
for serving its Indian and Global semiconductor market. It will provide
an entrepreneurial business environment and a complete semiconductor
product eco system. STG is bringing the Silicon Valley’s successful
business model, know-how and expertise to India. This will be a one
of a kind setup in India to incubate, design, develop and manufacture
semiconductor products for the Indian and the Global markets.
Proposed center in Bhubaneswar will be a shared facility for the
groups numerous ventures including the Chip Design, Embedded System
Design and Embedded Software Design, Testing & Development.
